Addtional Benefits

The Ability to Solve Problems

Lack of storage, a featureless room or poor traffic flow?

A decorator understands color, emphasis, scale, balance and space…
concepts that can be hard for even the most talented amateur to manage.

The Expertise to Prvent Costly Mistakes

Most people decorate only once or twice in their lifetime.
There are many things that are hard to know unless you’ve encountered them before.

Access to More Resources

There’s a world of fabrics and furnishings available only “to the trade”.
Not only do decorators have access, but they also know where to find it!

Industry Knowledge

Any design is only as good as its execution, and decorators know the best workrooms, carpenters, painters and installers to assure quality work.

Guidance and Collaboraton

One of the toughest aspects of decorating is selecting from the multitude of choices available.  A decorator can edit the options and offer seasoned advice to guide you through the design planning and decision process.

Personalized Style

A professional decorator provides a custom look that is truly designed for the client.  Are you formal or casual, traditional or contemporary?  My goal is to capture your vision and make it become reality.

Setting Priorities

A decorator will advise on how best to spend your money and plan for future phases of the design project.  If you’re on a budget (and who isn’t), a decorator can get the “most splash for your cash.”

Arbitration (You Love It - He Doesn't)

If there is a disagreement about style or color, the decorator can be the third party without a vested interest.  There is always more than one way to approach design solutions.  A decorator can help negotiate the process.

Advocate for Clients

Because decorators work regularly with vendors, manufacturers, trades people and showrooms they have more leverage to get things repaired or replaced.

Get the Job Done

How often have you given up halfway through a project or left those last few nagging details?  It’s a decorator’s job to follow through on each aspect of the design plan.

Reluctant to use a designer?

You think designers are only interested in their own personal preferences?

My approach to interior design is to represent you.
I become your advocate and representative.
By asking questions and careful listening I discover the "look you love."
As we work together we will bring your dream into your home.

You think designers are too expensive?

What do you want to invest in your project?  I work within those limits.
I can save you money by helping to avoid costly mistakes.
I can save you the time and expense involved in running from store to store.

You think your project is too small?

You may only need help finding direction.
You may simply want to update what you already have.
Perhaps add some artwork or rework a collection to show it better.
There are many simple things we can do to create a new look.
No job is too small.

An Interior Designer will be intimidating?

It is not usually necessary to buy all new furnishings, artwork or accessories.
My goal is to present solutions to achieve your desired look.
Furnishings can be recovered, relocated or even updated with hardware, etc.
I will accommodate your wants and needs.
I will help you express your style, not mine.

An Interior Designer will impose their style on me?

That is not the way I work with my clients.
For me, the excitement and challenge is to capture your style and put it into visual form.
It is rewarding and fun to create the vision you have for yourself.

But I don't even know what style I want.

Most people feel that way and most have never put words to their individual preferences.
By asking a lot of questions I am able to discover quickly what you like and dislike.
I will articulate for you what I discover in the process.
